How to be human and not a beast

  1. The condition of your soul is obvious through your behavior

  2. Excellence versus superiority

  3. Assertive versus domineering

  4. Flexible versus stubborn

  5. Compassionate versus stone-hearted

  6. Gracious tongue versus words as weapons

The posture of excellence versus the posture of superiority. These two elements may seem the same to the untrained eye, but with wise reflection, we know that excellence exudes humility.  A person with the posture of excellence understands that yes it is because of their hard work that they have achieved, but it is by the grace of God that they were given the talent and opportunity.

A person who is excellent will not use their accomplishment to lord over anyone else or try to belittle another person. An excellent person uses their position to uplift others and encourage others, they recognize the raw characteristics in others that can be cultivated to bring out excellence in someone else.

The superior person is unwise. They use their status to speak down to others, silence some and the ordinary person is invisible to them. Wisdom teaches us that success is fickle and that in the blink of an eye, something could happen and change life as we know it. Wisdom teaches us that the appointment that we are given is to be used to help others. Wisdom doesn’t allow us to be rude, arrogant, or dismissive.

A spiritually developed person when given an appointment will be operate with excellence- in pure authority. The corrupted soul when given an appointment of power does not operate from a place of purity, love, and compassion- so their reign can only illuminate what is their core self.
